The Federal government in, once again, treating the Trump indictment as the equivalent of a slam-dunk conviction.
From what I’d read in the media, I can understand how people might be able to say, “It’s obvious that he’s guilty”. We are only be given the Prosecutor’s side of the story. It’s assumed that the government’s case is solid, irrefutable, and incapable of being refuted.
But, then I remember history - OTHER political opponents have been crucified in the media, which benefited from the access given by the prosecution, and printed very one-sided stories. Some, like Senator Ted Stevens, were run out of office, then later found not to be guilty. In that case, the prosecutors hid evidence from the defense.
Washington juries are almost uniformly Democratic, and inclined to convict White defendants, as are NYC juries. Hence, the efforts to target Trump in anti-Trump cities.
COULD he be guilty?
Sure. But, given the government’s track against political opponents (Trump, J6), I’m going to withhold judgement.
Like this scene, I’m aware that evidence can be misleading.
