The Results of Oppression Are Never What Tyrants Expect
For example: the frenzy to keep “Fake News” out of social media (and, for that matter, other media). It resulted in widespread mistrust of both media and government.
The Proletarians honestly answer the Elites, and it’s a delicious - and well-deserved - smackdown.
Schools and other institutions have ALWAYS sucked up to the Elite. I well remember the crap that the ‘connected kids’ could get away with, and how the heavy hand of admins put the hammer down on students from the lowest classes.
Just one example: I was “unexpectedly” discovered to be gifted, and moved from regular to the X (accelerated) program.
I HATED it. I was surrounded by kids who acted, lived, and spoke differently than I. They all hung around together, were in the same neighborhoods, and had similar financial and career goals.
To say that I didn’t fit in would be an understatement. I used to work to find reasons to move back to classes with my buds. I actually made the adjustment several times (my guidance counselor, although a well-meaning person, was kind of a dim bulb, so it was easy to outsmart her). Somewhere around junior/senior year, the guidance office pretty much gave up on me. So, I wasn’t hauled for the meetings about PSAT, and I never took it. I had no idea that a high scorer (which, on standardized tests, I was) could get college money from the test.
Same with SAT - just wasn’t tagged for college, so skipped it. As a result, my option was getting into a community college, and, from there, I had a good track record and was able to transfer to a 4-year school, with some financial assistance.
Did I regret it? Not really. Had I gone to college immediately after high school, I likely would have experienced the same isolation from my peers that I had in high school. Probably would have flunked out early (but with debt). Instead, when I did attend, I was ready, and made stellar grades, and was able to parley that into a decent working life.
Guys, this is America.
We had not had an entitled class running most of our institutions for some time. Once the ‘land grant’ colleges started up, egalitarian education was the rule. There was always some entrenched preferential treatment for the Elite, but alternatives existed for the common man and woman.
When did this get worse? Probably when the federal government exploded in size. Before that, the reach of the Elite was limited to relatively local influence. After, they could impose their agenda on the rest of the country.
And, with the increasing influence of the Elite Leftist contingent, they have become embedded in the infrastructure of government ever since.
So, how have the Proles escaped the heavy hand of the Elite?
Home schooling. Charter schools.
Owning their own businesses. Using the web to sell their products and services.
Using various social media funding sources to sidestep organized charities, fund political runs, share non-approved information, and otherwise reject the Elitist imperatives.
Well!
That just CAN’T be permitted. So, TPTB decided to use the heavy hand of government to throttle resistance, forbid in-person gatherings, restrict the ability of the Proles to use their own money, and hound them out of jobs, schools, and neighborhoods.
I think the Elite Barrier Wall is cracking. The Dissident Media has hung in there, and the stories of Privileged Graft, Connections, and Undeserved Access to Government Money are coming out. There may yet be some righteous retribution.
