The chanting at Kamala is clearly orchestrated, not a natural enthusiasm.

Kamala has some annoying ‘tics’:

• She uses her hands too much. Gestures to emphasize are fine, but her movements look like an Italian talking to a friend.

• She tends to repeat, slowly and for emphasis, points she wants to stress.

• She speaks a little too slowly, hoping to assume a GRAVITAS - one that she doesn’t posses.

• She appears to be obsessed with Projec’ twenny-twenny fi’. It’s NOT a project of the Trump campaign.

• She hits all the tired old tropes:

  • Head Start and the Dept. of Education - “He is gonna take them away!”

  • Pre-Existing conditions in health care, Gun Violence, “Common Sense” Gun Laws, Extremists, Book-Banning (apparently it’s only the Right that does that!)

  • “I was one of the first officials in the country to perform same-sex marriages”.

Judging from the video, the chanters were seated to the right side of the auditorium (Kamala’s left). The chants did NOT spread, which might indicate some holding back by the AFT majority. Even the punctuated moments of the speech are short and do not represent all, or even most, of the hall.

And, as this is an AFT official meeting, this is the most pro-union, and presumably pro-Democratic audience she is likely to get.

Like Hillary, her voice tends to be shrill. She is more polished in this video than in most (she may have had teleprompters, but they didn’t show, if she did). She made good eye contact with the audience. She remembered to use the phrase God Bless America! without frowning or retching.

So, not a horrible speech.

Just not that good. But, any speech that has to be preceded by warnings about booing (VERY bad!) or otherwise expressing disagreement with Her Vapidness should be a warning to the Dems.

Kamala is receiving only moderate levels of interest or support. She is beatable.
