Gosh, the Motive is a Complete Mystery!
Not to US, of course
The attacks on Jews have escalated recently (not that they ever disappeared). The latest one to hit the headlines was the improvised flamethrower that - unexpectedly and for NO discernable reason - was used against a crowd of protestors. The perp - I think it’s fair to avoid the weaselly ALLEGED tag, as he was caught on MULTIPLE cameras in the process of committing his attack - was a middle-aged WHITE man, according to the media.
Things the media is dancing around:
The perp’s name - Mohamed Sabry Soliman. Let me stress, that I do NOT know of his faithfulness in religious matters, it’s a REALLY good bet that he is NOT Christian, Jewish, or Baháʼí (all of those religions are harshly suppressed in Islamic countries).
The perp is, indeed, middle-aged. What the media is not stressing is that Soliman is an Egyptian NATIONAL - in other words, not a homegrown, American criminal. Terrorism, particularly of the anti-Jewish type, is apparently one of that “jobs that Americans won’t do”.
I have no hate for Egyptians - my daughter had a friend in high school whose parents were born there. She was a Coptic - one of the many early Christian rites, that is is fairly close alignment with the Roman Catholic Church.
A neighbor of my grandparents was Egyptian (as was his wife). My parents later rented my grandparents’ home, and I was a frequent visitor to the landlord of their 2-apartment home, as was my mother. I became friendly with the girls and their mother (the father was affable and courteous, but didn’t talk much to the women neighbors). Their youngest child, called ‘Billy Bounce’ for the vigorous manner in which he moved in his bounce chair, had been given the birth name Elijah Mohammed Nader, so a reasonable assumption was that the family was Islamic.
The perp screamed “Free Palestine” at the protestors. So, although not Gazan or claiming “Palestine” heritage, he was clearly a sympathizer.
“The event, organized by “Run For Their Lives,” was a weekly walk to raise awareness for Israeli hostages held in Gaza. Soliman’s attack injured eight individuals, aged between 52 and 88, including an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor. At least one victim remains in critical condition.”
So, you can understand why the media states that the motive for the attack is “Unknown”.
Clearly, some of the many things not taught in Journalism Schools are logical thinking, ability to put EVIDENCE in context and draw reasonable conclusions, or the ability to see what is right in your face.
Maybe the writers are just cowards.
