China, China, China!
When You Lose Your OLD Crony in Washington, What Do You Do?
Those who were wondering “WHY Tim Walz?” need wonder no more.
If the Washington politician/lobbyist is mediocre or a barely coherent relative of someone in power, there IS a reason for them to “succeed” at getting elected/their relative elected.
They will be the conduit for money flow from foreign sources.
Their career potential will be burnished, their utterances extolled as The Next Great Fearless Leader!
Like so many since Coolidge - he was probably one of the LAST actually competent, honest leaders we’ve had.
He wasn’t perfect - no one is - but I would bet the next month’s mortgage he was honest in his public duties, and did not profit from shady deals with foreigners/American corporate interests.
I really don’t care about his/her sex life, as long as it is conducted discreetly, and is not used to blackmail/enhance resumes.
I’m not even all that concerned about what their income taxes look like, as long as they are not used to hide illegal contributions. MANY people fudge on their returns; as long as it doesn’t exceed around 1%, I can leave that to the person’s conscience.
Unless that income is from illegal activities, who cares how much they make?
NO employee in a management position in government, or elected to office, should have a family member (by birth or marriage) employed by either government, or any company/NGO that can potentially receive government money. IF that company/NGO applies for money, whether contract or grant, they either have to fire the relative, or forego the money.
Period.
Personal Note - that nasty storm that came through my city?
It was a tornado - an EF-1 level.
How bad was it?
The storm's estimated peak winds were 110 miles per hour, with a maximum width of 200 yards and a path length of 8.42 miles.
So, yeah, pretty bad. I have power (only lost it for about 1-1/2 hours), but my sister, brother, and son have not. My daughter, and around 6 of her neighbors, were the only ones spared a prolonged outage on her block.
I had to take some frozen food home from my sister’s to store until she has power.
Driving was exciting the last two days - dodging the limbs and fallen trees, detouring to avoid streets blocked, either for cleanup, or to repair electrical lines.
Ooooh, the BURN!
Incoming! Incoming! The Harris/Walz campaign is, once again, under attack - from their own words and actions.
So, she was FOR taxing tips before she was AGAINST it.
We the people are so tired of many of our leaders.
Glad you made it through the storm.
Have a fabulous day and week. ♥
