Advice that the Dems Will Not Hear
"There are none so deaf as those who will not hear"
Honestly, the decision makers of the Democratic Party need to have a ‘Come to Jesus moment’. That phrase still remains popular in the South, referring to that moment on the road to Damascus, when Saul (later Paul) was struck down by an appearance by Jesus, asking why he was persecuting his followers (Christians in the early church).
After that encounter, the renamed Paul sought out the people he had formerly targeted, and eventually was a stalwart in the governance and evangelism of the church. He worked mostly in the non-Jewish communities, and is largely responsible for the tremendous growth of Christianity.
I added in the context, as many people today have never learned most of the history of the Bible. They know only a few of the popular stories, and those in a superficial way.
The suddenness of the change, coupled with the drastic about-face in Paul’s following work, was attributable to the impact that the encounter had on him. It isn’t just something that happens in religious settings; the feminist movement of the 1970s referred to “The Click”. That phrase was used in a Ms. magazine piece, and described the sudden change that occurred when a woman was faced with information that changed her frame of reference, and brought about a complete revolution in her thinking.
For modern day people, the impact of George Floyd’s death led to such an abrupt change. After they saw the footage of his death, they were CONVERTED.
Alas, it was not to God, but to people (Leftists), who cynically exploited their propaganda-induced passion, and took advantage of their fervor to induce them to waste years on street action, drain their finances and tank their educations, and, when the people were no longer needed, tossed aside.
Some of those exploited were the migrants who traveled to the United States, eager to escape violence in their home country, economic disasters caused by Leftists in government, and for other understandable reasons.
If The Left had only been importing such people, they would not have awakened the Sleeping Giant of the Normals.
But, they didn’t limit themselves to those who might reasonably be able to fit into the language and culture of America.
No, they HAD to bring in violent criminals, such as the Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang, one of the most vicious around. The Left was aware that doing so would incite opposition to migration; that was their aim. They smeared opponents as racists and hateful to those that were brown and didn’t speak English.
Many protested, saying that they mostly opposed the gangs. No matter. They were demonized, all the same.
The Left looked upon the immigrants as a homogeneous group. They all were LatinX, weren’t they?
BTW, Hispanics HATE the term LatinX. Really.
What The Left does not understand is that most migrants don’t refer to themselves by either Hispanic or Latino/LatinX. They call themselves by their COUNTRY OF ORIGIN - Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Mexican, et al. It’s not uncommon for these migrants to further sub-identify as being from a particular region of their home country, or even by the name of their village.
They neither trust nor tolerate vicious criminals, especially those from another country. When the newbs were all housed in neighborhoods together, tensions rose. Their families and neighbors noticed - BIGLY. And, they took that notice to the polls, giving Trump one of the largest portions of non-English speaking votes of any non-Democratic candidate.
Unless the Dems excise the extremists who would take an election to make a point, they may struggle to win another election for many years.
